Abstract

Background: In 2022, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia reported 5,530 cases of developmental disorders in children. Central Bureau of Statistics in 2023 the number of early childhood children in Indonesia alone will reachai 30.2 million people. In Central Java alone, there are 2.58 million for ages 0-4 years and 2.91 million for ages 5-9 years Purppose: The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between parental parenting patterns and the development of preschool-aged children in Grujugan Village Method: The research method uses quantitative descriptive with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study was 45 parents who had children aged 4-6 years in Grujugan Village. Sampling used total sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire on parenting patterns and child development using KPSP Results: The results of this study were that most parents used a democratic parenting style, 38 people (84.4%). In terms of children's development, the majority of them had appropriate development, 36 children (80%). Based on the results of research using spearman rank The relationship between parenting styles and the development of preschool children in Grujugan Village with p value 0.04, with a fairly strong category of r = 0.442. Conclusion: There is a relationship between parenting styles and the development of preschool children in Grujugan Village. Recommendations for further research: Investigate other factors that influence child development such as illness, education, intrapersonal relationships.
