Abstract
Background: Hypertension is a serious condition that often shows no early symptoms. Acute pain is a common complaint among hypertensive patients. Murottal Al-Quran therapy, as a non-pharmacological method, has significant potential to reduce acute pain and improve the quality of life for hypertensive patients. Objective: This study aims to analyze the nursing care application of Murottal Al-Quran for hypertension patients with acute pain in the Emergency Room of PKU Muhammadiyah Petanahan Hospital. Methods: This study employed a descriptive method with a case study approach. The subjects were 5 hypertension patients with acute pain. The instruments used included a nursing care format, Nursing Kit, and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Murottal Al-Quran intervention. Data were analyzed descriptively in a qualitative manner and presented in tables and narratives. Results: The assessment of hypertension patients indicated the primary complaint was acute headache pain with a scale of 4-6. The nursing diagnosis was acute pain related to physiological injury agents. Interventions included pain scale assessment, vital signs measurement, Murottal Al-Quran administration, and relaxation distraction techniques. Evaluation showed a 3-point reduction in pain scale, indicating that Murottal Al-Quran therapy was effective in reducing pain in hypertensive patients. Conclusion: The application of Murottal Al-Quran therapy was effective in lowering acute pain levels in hypertensive patients in the Emergency Room of PKU Muhammadiyah Petanahan Hospital. Patients experienced a significant reduction in pain scale following the Murottal intervention, helping alleviate pain symptoms. Recommendations: Murottal Al-Quran therapy should be incorporated into the standard care protocols in the emergency department, particularly for hypertensive patients with acute pain, as a non-pharmacological treatment that can be administered independently or in conjunction with other medical interventions.
