Abstract

Background: Self-harm or self-torture by deliberately cutting or slicing to release the suffering felt. Data obtained from the 2020 Indonesian census shows that the total number of adolescents aged 10-19 years is around 46 million or around 20% of the total population of Indonesia. Apart from the Indonesian census, there is data from Riskedes in 2018 that around 6.2% of the Indonesian population or 11 million adolescents aged 15 years and over experience mental health disorders as indicated by symptoms of depression and anxiety. Objectives: Analyzing Predisposing Factors of Self Harm in Adolescents at senior high school 1 Pejagoan. Methods: Quantitative research that uses descriptive analytic method with cross sectional approach, sampling using proposonal random sampling. The number of samples in this study were 285 respondents at SMA N 1 Pejagoan. Data analysis using univariate analysis, using descriptive analysis. Using a self-harm predisposing factor questionnaire. Results: The results of this study were 271 (95.1%) respondents in the Self-Harm Group and 14 (4.9%) respondents in the Non Self-Harm Group. Predisposing factors in the excellent category for biological as many as 116 (40.7%), for psychological 63 (22.11%), social culture 71 (24.9%). Conclusion: The majority of adolescents fall into the self-harm group as many as 271 (95.2%). Biological predisposing factors were mostly good with 138 (48.4%) respondents, psychological factors were mostly good with 186 (65.3%) respondents and socio-cultural predisposing factors were mostly good with 209 (73.3%) respondents. Recommendation: The results of this study are expected to be taken into consideration and learning materials to be further developed to conduct further research on screening analysis of predisposing factors of self-harm in adolescents at SMA N 1 Pejagoan.
