Abstract
Background: the Surgical Safety Checklist is a checklist for safe and quality surgical patient safety. Motivation is very much needed by nurses in filling out the Surgical Safety Checklist sheet at the hospital, because with motivation it is expected that each individual is able to work hard and enthusiastically to achieve high work targets. Aim: the purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between nurse motivation and adherence to filling out the Surgical Safety Checklist at the Central Surgical Installation of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Method: this study used a descriptive correlative research type with a cross sectional approach. Samples taken 26 people, with total sampling technique. This study uses Chi square analysis for bivariate analysis. Results:the majority of respondents had a D3 education 57.7%, and the majority had worked >10 years 53.8%, 80.8% who worked in the operating room had high motivation and 73.1% complied with filling in the Surgical Safety Checklist in the operating room. Conclusion: there is a significant relationship between nurse motivation and adherence to completing the Surgical Safety Checklist at the Central Surgical Installation of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital (p=0.000) Recommendations: for future researchers, it is hoped that the scope of the research will be more in-depth using direct observation methods regarding filling in the Surgical Safety Checklist.
