Abstract
Background: STEMI is a clinical syndrome that occurs due to acute coronary occlusion of the coronary arteries due to prolonged coronary heart thrombosis as a cause of rupture of atherosclerotic plaque in the epicardial coronary wall. This pain can be managed through medical therapy and nursing care. Nurses have an important role in managing chest pain in STEMI patients. Interventions that can be carried out by nurses independently are providing non-pharmacological therapy, one of which is the Benson relaxation technique. Objective: To analyze nursing care for STEMI patients with Benson relaxation technique intervention in the ICU room at PKU Muhammadiyah Kutowinangun Hospital. Method: This scientific paper uses a descriptive study design. The case study subjects were 5 patients with STEMI disease problems. Data collection using observation, interview and documentation techniques. Results: The nursing problem that emerged in the five patients was acute pain. The intervention that will be carried out is the Benson relaxation technique. From the implementation results, it was found that the five patients experienced a decrease in the patient's pain level after using the Benson relaxation technique. Conclusion: The non-pharmacological Benson relaxation technique can be applied to treat acute pain
