Abstract

Background: Stroke is a health threat that is the leading cause of physical disability and death in the world. Prevention and early detection of stroke can be done by implementing a healthy lifestyle and identifying risk factors so that the risk of stroke can decrease. Stroke Riskometer is an application to identify risk factors and can be used as a preventive measure for individuals at risk of stroke. Objective: To determine the probability of acute stroke for Stroke Riskometer users in Redisari Village, Rowokele District. Methods: This type of research is quantitative descriptive research with a cross-sectional approach. Respondents in this study were residents of Redisari Village, Rowokele District who participated in the Al-Munawaroh Elderly Posyandu Program, totaling 45 residents. This research used a questionnaire taken from the Assess Stroke Riskometer feature which was translated into Indonesian. Results: The risk probability of experiencing an acute stroke event from 45 respondents with the next 5 years resulted in the lowest predicted rate (0.8%) and the highest predicted rate (6.4%), while the probability of the next 10 years resulted in the lowest predicted rate (1.4%) and the highest predicted rate (14.5%) with varying risk factors and respondent characteristics. Conclusion: The characteristics, risk factors and probability of research subjects being at risk of experiencing an acute stroke incident in 5 and 10 years can be described through the use of Stroke Riskometer. Recommendation: It is expected for future research to study research subjects with risk factors with more detailed information, more varied characteristics, and with a wider population or sample so that the resulting research data is more complete and accurate.
