Abstract
Background: Indonesia has a majority population adhering to Islam. The government's responsibility is to ensure products comply with halal standards, including medicines. The role of pharmacists is very significant in determining drug choices for patients regarding the use of drugs that contain ingredients that are not permitted by Muslims. The priority of Muslim consumers in Indonesia is halal products. The halal status of a drug is an important thing that someone will pay attention to before buying a product. Objective: To determine the level of knowledge, attitudes and perceptions of pharmacists regarding the halal of medicines in pharmacies in Kebumen Regency. Method: This research is a descriptive study with a total sampling method with a total of 174 pharmacists. Data was collected by filling in a questionnaire. Results: Pharmacists' level of knowledge regarding halal medicines based on research conducted showed that 24 respondents (31.17%) were very good and 53 respondents (68.83%) were good. The pharmacist's attitude towards halal medicine was obtained by 62 respondents (80.52%) who strongly supported it and 15 respondents (19.48%) who supported it. Pharmacists' perception of the halal of medicines was obtained from 36 respondents (46.75%) who strongly supported it and 33 respondents (42.86%) supported it, 7 respondents (9.09%) quite supported it, 1 respondent (1.30%) did not support it. Conclusion: From this research, it was found that the level of pharmacists' knowledge of halal medicines in Kebumen Regency was good, while the attitudes and perceptions of pharmacists towards halal medicines in Kebumen Regency were very supportive. Suggestion: Research needs to be carried out using different methods, not using Google forms because maximum results will not be obtained.
