Abstract
Background: Hand washing is a process of mechanically removing dirt and dust from both hands by using soap and water. This aims to prevent cross-contamination (person to person or contaminated object to person) of a disease or germicidal movement. Singing is one of the elements that create excitement and cheerful atmosphere. Since young children (toddlers) are very susceptible to disease because of no hand washing, the writer is interested in applying a singing method to make it easy for the toddlers to wash hands properly and correctly. Objectives: Providing midwifery care to toddlers in order to wash hands properly and correctly by using singing method. Method: This scientific paper uses analytical descriptive method in the type of case study. In this case study, that writer describes the facts of the assessment obtained through examination, care provision, and documented direct observation. Result: After the implementation of the singing method to make it easier for the toddlers to wash their hands properly and properly, most of them are able to do and remember hand washing steps. This was done to the children of Nusa Indah Pre School from March 30, 2017 to April 11, 2017 for 5 meetings and once assessment. Of the 17 children there are 3 children who can not do the locking step. Conclusion: Singing method is effecttive to simplify proper and correct hand washing for children under five.
