Abstract
Background: Anemia in pregnancy is one of the causes of high maternal mortality rate (MMR) in developing countries. This is caused by iron (Fe) deficiency and acute hemorrhage. Often both of these causes even interact with each other. A pregnant mother may easily suffer from anemia. This is because the blood of a pregnant mother has hemodilution (dilution), usually begins to appear pregnancy of trimester II. Anemia in pregnancy can make the mother’s condition worse during pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and the next. Therefore, it is necessary to give tablet Fe (at least 90 tablets), vitamin C, and other sources of iron (Fe), such as boiled chicken eggs to raise the Hb level. Objective: To know the effect of midwifery care on boiled chicken eggs, vitamin C, and tablet Fe consumtion in increasing Hb level of pregnant mothers trimester II with anemia in Inddependent Midwifery Clinic of Sri Jumiyati at Buluspesantren, Kebumen. Method: This study is an analytical descriptive. The data was collected by using primary data (interviews, observation, documentation) and secondary data. The conclusion of this research is based on data presentation. Results: After consuming boiled chicken eggs, vitamin C, and tablets Fe, the Hb of 2 participants increased, and the other participant’s Hb decreased because of other factors. Conclusion: Consuming boiled chicken eggs, Vitamin C, and tablets Fe have effect to the increase of Hb level of pregnant mothers in trimester II.
