Abstract
Background: According to the data of Health Office of Kebumen, the prevalence of foot ulcers of Diabetus Melitus (DM) patient is 2% to 10%, and the amputation rate is 7%-20%. One of the ways how to handle diabetes gangrene wounds is by non-pharmacological therapy with honey. Clinically, the application of honey can reduce edema, form exudates, minimize scar tissue formation, and can also reduce pain sensation in burnt wound and other wounds. Objective: To find out the effectiveness of wound care application using honey in accelerating the healing of DM type II wound. Method: This study is an analytical descriptive with case study approach. The participants are 2 clients suffering from dabetic foot ulcers. The instruments are Procedural Operation Standard of wound care and wound observation. Result: The clients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers have impaired tissue integrity assosiated with peripheral neuropathy. Intervention: To accelerate the healing of DM type II wound is treatment care using honey. Evaluation: The diagnosis of tissue integrity assosiated with peripheral neurophaty was resolved. Wound care using honey is effective to accelerate the healing of DM type II wound. Keywords: Diabetus mellitus type II, honey, wound care
