Abstract
Background: The data of World Health Organization (WHO) in 2011 shows that based on the diagnosis there are 300 million people in the world suffer from asthma and estimated to increase to be 400 million by 2025. Uncontrolled asthma may cause it severe. Asthma gymnastics as the name suggests is a therapy for asthma. Regular asthma gymnastics can increase the strength of respiratory muscles, capacity and efficiency in the respiration process. Objective: To apply the asthma gymnastics to overcome the oxygenation problem of asthma patient. Method: This study is an analytical descriptive with case study approach. The participants were 2 clients with asthma. The instruments were Procedural Operation Standard of asthma gymnastics and oxygenation observation sheet. Result: After applying asthma gymnastics, there was no value change of spirometry, there was a decrease in respiratory value and in wheezing. Intervention: Applying asthma gymnastics to overcome oxygenation problems of asthma patient. Evaluation: The ineffectiveness of airway clearance associated with secretion was partially resolved. The application of asthma gymnastics is effective to overcome the oxygenation problem of asthma clients. Keywords: Oxygenation, asthma client, asthma gymnastics
