Abstract
Background: Based on the data of Health Office of Bantul Regency in 2011, there were 76 cases of renal function disorders and 119 chronic renal failure patients having hemodialysis in Panembahan Senopati Hospital of Bantul. Hemodialysis usually affects the patients, such as physical and behavioral changes. Objective: To describe a nursing care for hemodialysis patients having body image disorder in Muhammadiyah Hospital of Gombong. Method: This scientific paper is an analytical descriptive with a case study approach. Data were obtained through interview, observation, and physical examination. The subjects were 2 hemodialysis patients with body image disorder. Result: After having nursing care by discussing and giving motivation, sign and symptoms the body image disorder of hemodialysis patients was decreasing. Recommendation: Nurses are suggested to have a “home visit” to discuss and motivate the patients for decreasing their body image disorders faster. Keywords: Hemodialysis, body image disorder
