Abstract

Background. In 2013 Diabetes Mellitus sufferers in Indonesia reached 8,554,155 people. Complications that often occur in people with Diabetes Mellitus is the occurrence of pathological changes in the limbs, namely the incidence of leg injuries. Research purposes. Describing the effectiveness of Nursing Care with the provision of honey therapy in patients with Diabetes Mellitus in accelerating the process of wound healing. Method. The method used in this research is descriptive method with case study approach. The subject of this case study was in one of the families who suffered diabetic wounds in the legs. Data analysis and presentation of data used is narrative text and frequency distribution table. Results. The results of the assessment scores with the DESIGN of the patients before and after the wound treatment were administered included in the good category, with a wounded depth of 3 (Lesions to dermis layer) to be 2 (Lesion to dermis) within 3x24 hours. Discussion. Provision of honey therapy in wound care can accelerate the process of healing diabetic wounds. Conclusion. The diabetic wound becomes better after being given honey treatment in wound care to speed up the healing process. Keywords: Application, Diabetes Mellitus, Honey.
