Abstract
Background : Thypoid fever is an endemic disease that is transmitted through food and drink contaminated by Salmonella thypii. The lack of public knowledge and behavior about food sanitation can increase the incidence of thypoid fever. Objective : To know the correlation of knowledge and family behavior about food sanitation in Krakal – Alian. Method : The design of this research is quantitative research where the number of samples is 98 respondents. The data analysis technique is Chi Square. Results : The data obtained 52 respondents have good knowledge and 51 responden have enough behavior in youching food. Statistic test of knowledge with the occurrence of thypoid fever p value=0,082 so there isno significant correlation because p>0,05 and statistic test of behavior with the occurrence thypoid fever p value 0,003 so there is significant correlation because p<0,05. Discassion : There is no significant correlation between family knowledge about food sanitation with the occurrence thypoid fever because p value=0,082 (p>0,05) sanitation with the occurrence thypoid fever because p value=0,003 (p<0,05). Need to be for families to change the behavior to be better in order to reduce the incident rate of thypoid fever
