Abstract
Background: Chronic stress occurs in cancer patients who are not able to adjust to a life threatening situation. The inability of cancer patients to adapt quickly to a life threatening situation isshown by feelings of hopelessness, fatigue, tension, stress, and low life expectancy. Cervical cancer patients with good spiritual intelligence is able to adapt to the disease s they do not experience stress. Objective:to find out thecorrelation between spiritual intelligence and stress levels of clients withcervical cancer in Prof. Dr. MargonoSoekarjo Hospital Purwokerto. Methods: This study used a correlation method with cross sectional approach. Sample consisted of 44 people who were taken by using purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed by using descriptive analysis and correlation withKendal tau test. Results:the findigs showthat the majority of cervical cancers clients had sufficient spiritual intelligence category (54.5%). Most clients cervical cancer had very severe levels of stress category (65.9%). Conclusion: There is a correlationbetween spiritual intelligencr andstress levels of cervical cancer patients inProf. Dr. MargonoSoekarjoPurwokerto Hospital (p = 0.001). The bette spiritual intelligence is, thelower level of stress experienced by clients of cervical cancer
