Abstract
Background: Early experience of menstruation which is not accompanied by clear and true information of menstruation is needed by teenagers having their first period so that they can feel serenity. Mothers have a very important role in providing the information of menstruation to their daughters. Objective:Toknow the relationship between social support of mothers and personal hygiene during menstruation towards schoolgirl ofState Junior High School 2 Rowokele. Method:This study uses descriptive correlation methood with cross sectional approach. The samples are 74 students taken by using Total Sampling technique. Data was analyzed by using Kendal Tau test. Result: The finding of this study is that (47.3 %)of students in State Junior High School 2 Rowokele havegood social support from their mothers. Most schoolgirls inState Junior High School 2 Rowokele (50.0 %)have personal hygiene menstruation. Conclusion:There is a relationship between social support of mothers and personal hygiene during menstruation towards schoolgirl ofState Junior High School 2 Rowokele (p=0.000). Recommendation: The schoolgirls should keep on applying healthy life behavior and always maintain the cleanliness during their menstruation to avoid infection or disease.
