Abstract
Background: Chronic renal failure (CRF) is a non-contagious disease in which the incident is increasing each year. It commonly happens in productive aged people between 15 up to 64 years old. CRF can cause a lot of problems in any aspects of life if occurs during productive age. Objective: The present study aimed at knowing the overview of predisposing factors of chronic renal failure at productive age in Muhammadiyah Hospital of Gombong. Methods: This research used descriptive quantitative study with survey approach. The samples were 98 respondents selected using purposive sampling technique. The data were collected using structured interview technique and then were analyzed using univariate analysis method. Results: This research found that before being suffered from chronic renal failure, 67,3% respondents had suffered from diabetes, 57,1% had suffered from hypertension, 53,1% respondents consumed supplement drink regularly, 55,1% did not consume adequate water (1 up to 1,5 liters per day), 62,2% consumed high-fat foodsregularly. Conclusions: Before suffered from chronic renal failure, the majority of respondents had suffered from diabetes, hypertension, regularly consumed supplement drink, high fat-foods, and did not consume adequate water (1 up to 1,5 liters per day).
