Abstract
Background: Hospitalization is a major problem for children. Hospitalization causes preschool childrren to be uncooperative, 9 out of 10 parents said their child could not be invited to work with a nurse in a nursing action if they were not forced, persuaded, or given a toy before breast feeding. Some nurses say therapy plays in the Melati’s room RSUD Dr. Soedirman Kebumen is not scheduled with certainty. Objective: To knowing the relations of behaviour therapy plays with the cooperative behavior of preschool children who undergo treatment in the Melati’s room RSUD Dr. Soedirman Kebumen. Research Method: This research is a correlative research. Type of cross sectional approach. The total samples were 27 children. Sampling technique using accidental sampling. Data collection using observation sheets. Data analysis using SPSS version 16.0. Research result: The results showed 9 children (33,3%) behaved very badly during play therapy. Most children (77,8%) or 21 children had cooperative behaviours after being given plays therapy. The statistical test obtained p=0,004 (p<0,05), then Ha accepted. In conclusion there is a relations of behaviour therapy plays with the cooperative behavior of preschool children who undergo treatment in the Melati’s room RSUD Dr. Soedirman Kebumen. Recommendation: Melati’s room is expected to make a schedule of therapy plays regulary and the implementation is done by nurses.
