Abstract
Background: Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic abnormality that characterized by hyperglycemia. The number of diabetes melitus in Indonesia was in the fourth place in the world. Diabetic ulcer is one of the diabetic complications which are difficult to handle. Well wound care will heal the wound quickly. Nowadays, honey and olive oil have been used for diabetic wound care. Objective: To know the process of wound healing before and after wound care by using honey and olive oil. Method: This study is a quantitative descriptive with a case study approach. Which after did the treatment on one subject, there was a result then being valued. Result: After conducting wound care, there was no change in the wound. The results of the wound assessment were the depth (the wound until sub-cutis), the exudates (light, no need to change the dressing every day), the size (4 cm2 - <16 cm2), the infection (no), the granulation (healthy granulation less than 10%), the necrotic (there was a soft necrotic tissue), the pocket (4 cm2 - <16 cm2). The total wound area on the first day was 13.37 cm2, while on the second day was 13.32 cm2 with a decrease 0.05 cm2. Recommendation: Honey and olive oil are recommended for dressing on wound. With the result, there was a reduction of wound area after the treatment.
