Abstract
Background: Children who are hospitalized (Hospitalization) will get many treatments such as examination of vital signs, blood sampling, to the installation of infusion. This will cause pain and may cause an anxious child to meet a health worker. Anxiety or anxiety is a feeling of uneasiness or a vague worry accompanied by an autonomous response. Children who experience anxiety will respond to changes in behavior such as crying, no appetite, difficulty sleeping and others. Many ways can be done to overcome anxiety in children, one of them is play therapy. General Objectives: Describe nursing care in patients with basic coping / stress tolerance needs. Result of analysis: Nursing problem taken by writer that is koping / tolerance of stress. After 3x24 hours of nursing action with the innovation of play therapy: coloring the picture, the results obtained play therapy: coloring the image can reduce the level of anxiety in children. Recommendation: Therapeutic play: coloring the images proved to reduce the anxiety level of children due to hospitalization, because through play therapy can divert the pain in the game (distraction) and relaxation through the fun of doing the game.
