Abstract
Background: The prevalence of hypertension occurring in Africa is about 46%, in America about 35% and in the Asian region about 36% in adults and 32% in Indonesia. Hypertension is a disease that requires therapy in the treatment, it is necessary management of hypertension based on adherence therapy. Patient noncompliance resulting from disagreement of patients in the therapy is one of the causes of treatment failure. This is often due to a lack of patient knowledge about the drug and everything related to the use of medication for its therapy Objective: To know the correlation between knowledge with adherence of re-visit of hypertension patient of stage II at Karanganyar Kebumen Health Center Method: This research uses correlational analytic method with cross sectional approach. A sample of 67 people taken by purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and correlation using chi square test. Results: This study yields findings that most respondents with knowledge about hypertension category less (58,1%). The majority of respondents with adherence to re-visit patients with stage 2 hypertension category are not adherent (61.3%). Conclusion: There is a correlation between knowledge with adherence of re-visit of hypertension patient of stage II at Karanganyar Kebumen Health Center (p = 0,012).
