Abstract
Background: Health in old age is very important for elderly. Elderly Posyandu Activities is an effort to improve health, so the quality of life of people in the elderly are well preserved and optimal. One of the factors that influence the level of elderly visit comes to posyandu elderly that is external motivation of elderly (support of family and environment). Objective: To know the relationship of elderly external motivation with the level of elderly visit to Posyandu in Sitibentar Village Mirit District. Method: This research use correlation method with cross sectional approach. Sample amounted to 98 elderly taken by proportionate random sampling. Data were analyzed using descriptive and correlative analysis using chi square test. Results: This study yields findings that most respondents with good external motivation categories (44.9%). Most with elderly visitation rate to posyandu category not active (63.3%). Conclusion: There is an external elderly motivation relationship with the level of elderly visit to Posyandu in Sitibentar, Mirit (p = 0.001).
