Abstract
Background: Chronic renal-failure is the decrease of progressive renal function which is irreversible to be a big problem in the world. This is because it is difficult to heal and has been increasing every year up to 8% (WHO, 2013). Spiritual need is a basic need of an individual in searching life goal and the meaning of life. Based on the data of spiritual need, there is a patient feels that his life has no clear direction, his life is meaningless, but there is also a patient who can control his life by implementing his religion teaching as the means of devoting to God, and finally he can put everything about his condition on God’s decision. Objective:To describe demographic factors and spiritual need of chronic renalfailure patient having hemodialia therapy in Muhammadiyah hospital of Gombong. Result:The study yields a finding that most of chronic renal-failure patients undergoing hemodialisa therapy have high spiritual need (72.8%). Some have medium spiritual need (17.3%), and few have low spiritual need (9.9%). Conclusion:Most of chronic renal-failure patients in Muhammadiyah hospital of Gombong (72.8%) have high spiritual need. Recommendation: Hopefully the health workers can maintain the spiritual need of chronic renal-failure patients undergoing hemodialisa therapy.
