Abstract

Background: Benigna Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH) is an enlarged non-cancerous prostate gland which is the second case in Indonesia where treatment is done with TURP surgery. Impaired basic needs of safe and comfortable feeling in post op patients will cause nursing problems, one of which is pain. General Objectives: Describe the results of analysis of nursing care in post benigna prostate hyperplasia (BPH) patients with acute pain nursing problems in Edelwes Room Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Hospital Purwokerto. Results of nursing care: The assessment was carried out for three BPH patients with TURP post alloanamnesa and autoanamnesa, then physical examination. From the analysis of data obtained by the authors draw conclusions of priority nursing problems is a disturbance of sense of security and comfort: Pain. After a guided imagery relaxation for 5-10 minutes, the pain result is reduced and Patients seem more relaxed. Relaxation guided imagery can be done every patient feel the pain. Recommendation: nurses should be able to apply guided imagery relaxation techniques in the treatment of pain in addition to pharmacological therapy.
