Abstract
Background: The number of patients with schizophrenia in Indonesia continues to grow. Consequently, there was a 14.1% of the population of Indonesia are experiencing schizophrenia began from mild to severe that usually characterized by a lack of regard for self care. Moreover, the treatment of schizophrenia patients with self care deficit is by administering stimulus or stimuli that trigger the onset of a positive perception toward himself or in other terms is Group Activity Therapy. Objective: analyzing the activity group therapy Personal hygiene in patients with schizophrenia self-care deficit at wisma Harjuna RSJ Prof. Dr. Soerojo, Magelang Results: The results of evaluation of the patient state of schizophrenia after a group activity therapy for 3 days, patient 1 able to mention five benefits of self hygiene, be able to mention the five self-hygiene tool, able to practice steps cleand up. Patient 2&3 was able to mention three benefits of self hygiene and selfhygiene tool, able to practice steps cleand up with mentored. Client 4&5 was able to mention the four benefits of self hygiene,different in cleanliness mention self instrumentPatients 4 mentioned four and patients 5 said five, able to practice steps cleand up with mentored. Recomendation: group activity therapi was evident to increase in patients with schizophrenia self-care deficit, so important to aplied in wisma.
