Abstract
Background: Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience resulting from actual or potential tissue damage. Pain that occurs in postpartum mothers who experienced spontaneous rupture and performed an episiotomy action can affect the condition of the mother like a mother less rest, worrying about the ability to care for the baby, stress and the mother is difficult to sleep, in addition to the fulfillment of breast milk in the baby is reduced and the family will bother to take care of the mother and baby. Episiotomy is an incision made in the vagina and perineum to widen the soft part of the birth canal while shortening the birth canal. Objective: Analyze the nursing care of episiotomy patients with acute pain problems. Result: Nursing diagnoses of acute pain relate to physical injury agents (post partum with episiotomy). Intervention, pain management. Implementation, conduct comprehensive pain assessment, teach nonfarmakologi technique (ice compress), monitor TTV, give analgetic according to doctor's prescription. Evaluation, there is a decrease in the scale of pain after the implementation of an ice compress. Recommendation: Innovations that have been done in post partum patients with episiotomy are cold compresses. This innovation is very helpful for patients to be able to control the level of pain and control the pain, the patient is more relaxed and comfortable after doing ice compress.
