Abstract
Background: Fractures are a disease of loss of bone, cartilage, total or partial controversy by way of surgery through Open Reduction internal fixation (ORIF). Symptom signs that often occur after surgery are acute postoperative pain. Independent nursing handling that occurs in acute pain in fracture patients in Seruni Room of RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto is teaching deep breathing relaxation. Objective: Describe nursing care given to patients with acute pain in postoperative ORIF patients in Seruni Room of Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto hospital. Results: The assessment was carried out on three postoperative fracture patients alloanamnesa and autoanamnesa, then performed physical examination and support. From the data analysis obtained the authors draw the conclusion of priority nursing problems is acute pain. After the action of teaching the relaxation of breath in the results obtained the scale of pain in patients decreased from 6 to 4 and look more comfortable and look relaxed with less pain experienced. Conclusion: Acute pain nursing care in patients postoperative fracture performed pain assessment. Then performed the analysis and drawn the conclusion of a nursing diagnosis. The nurse's selfhelp intervention to address the acute pain of the patient is to teach deep breathing relaxation to help reduce the scale of pain experienced
