Abstract
Background: Thermoregulation need of hyperthermia is one of the basic human needs needed to fulfill. Complications may occur if it is not handled very well. They are dehydration, lack of oxygen, fever above 420C, febrile seizures, and finally death. Objective: to describe nursing care of fulfilling thermoregulation need (hypertermia) to Mr. J At Dahlia Ward, Dr. Soedirman State Hospital of Kebumen. Discussions: The main nursing diagnosis was hyperthermia associated with infection process by salmonella thypi. Interventions and implementations were monitoring vital signs: blood pressure (BP) 120/70 mmHg , temperature 38,70C , respiration rate (RR) 19 tpm, pulse 89 bpm; providing warm compress, injection of ranitidine and ciprofloxacin. Results: The evaluation showed that the nursing diagnose above had been successfuly resolved. Keywords: nursing care, thermoregulation need, hyperthermia
