Abstract

Background: Hypertension is the third leading cause of death after stroke and tuberculosis, reaching 6.7% of the mortality population at all ages in Indonesia, especially the elderly. While data from Puskesmas Kebumen II prevalence of hypertension in March 2017 - May 2017 counted 260 cases. Appropriate management to lower blood pressure is with elderly gymnastics. General purpose: to know the description of nursing care in hypertensive patients through elderly gymnastics. Results of nursing care: From the results of the assessment of 5 families have a history of hypertension. The priority problem is the lack of knowledge about the disease. Intervention and implementation of the author's focus during the treatment of five samples is by measuring the elderly's blood pressure before doing gymnastics, observing the movements and stages of gymnastics when the patient performs gymnastics and after doing gymnastics is measured again the patient's blood pressure.
