Abstract
Background research : Typhoid fever is an acute intestinal systemic disease. Symptoms of headache, fever, accompanied by gastrointestinal tract disturbances, so that becomes a major problem. Research purposes : This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the therapy of relaxation therapy distraksi guided imagination of pain in children with thypoid fever in RSUD Dr. Soedirman. Research purposes : Nursing care was performed in 5 pediatric patients, ranging in age from 5 to 17 years, for 3 days. Data collection by interview technique, direct measurement of vtal sign and secondary data from medical record. The results of the assessment were obtained from 5 pediatric patients, almost (80%) had a pain scale of 6 and a small percentage (20%) with a pain scale 7. TTV monitor set interventions, adjusted comfortable positions, created a quiet environment, giving pharmological and non-phonological pain acts, and teaching relaxation techniques of guided imagination distraction. Evaluation results of 5 pediatric patients, all (100%) pain scale 2 with safe pain scale. Conclusion : Based on this research, relaxation therapy distraksi guided imagination effectively given to children aged 5 years to 17 years, so that relaxation therapy distraksi guided imagination can be included in pain management
