Abstract
Background: One therapy for cataract patients is cataract surgery. The success of cataract treatment is inseparable from postoperative care. Postoperative care of cataracts is important to note, as the success of cataract surgery is also influenced by adherence in post-cataract care. Therefore, proper education or health counseling from nurses to patients and families on how to care for postpartum cataract patients at home is needed. Objective: To know the relation of health education with patient compliance to post cataract surgery treatment and Inpatient Room of Purbowangi Hospital. Method: This research used correlative descriptive method. A sample of 67 postoperative cataract post patients was taken by random sampling. Results: Health education for post cataract patients (61.2%). Adherence to post cataract postoperative care is mostly adequate (46.3%). There is relationship of health education with patient compliance to postoperative care of cataract with p value 0.000 meaning p<0.05. Recommendation: Hospital side in order to improve health education program in accordance with SOP.
