Abstract
Background: Personal hygiene in many psychiatric patients ia decrease and required family support. The support of family and friend is one of the cursed for healing that is very meaningful for people with mental disorders. Purpose: To indentity the personal hygiene needs to mental patients. Method: Using descriptive survey method with 73 families as sample by simpleks random sampling. Univariate analysis with descriptive statistic test. Results: The internal support of the family ini the psychiatric patient consists of emotional support (61.64%), award support (80.55%), information support (70.21%), instrumental support (76.63%), bath cleanliness (80.82%), shampoo (80.82%), toothbrushing (80.82%), nail care (82.19%), well-dressed (80.82%), self-service (82.19%), rating procedure (89.04%), drinking procedure (90.14%), bowel procedure (79.45%) Recommendation: From the results of the study ia expected that all parties to conduct counseling, family education about the fulfillment of personal hygiene needs.
