Abstract
Background: Prevalence of puerperal mothers in the age of 25 – 30 years old who have perineum rupture in Indonesia is 24%, and 62% of those in the age of 32 – 39 years old. Perineum wound which is not well treated can obstruct the healing and may cause infection. To heal the wound, it can be treated by binahong leaf boiled-water. Binahong leaf contains oleanic acid which can strengthen the cell resistance towards infection. It can also repair the cell so as to regenerate well. Therefore, the writer is interested in applying binahong leaf boiled-water to heal perineum wound. Objective: To know the application of binahong leaf boiled-water to heal perineum wound of puerperal mothers in independent midwifery clinic of Midwife Diana Yulita at Sawangan, Alian, Kebumen. Method: This study is an analytical descriptive with a case study approach. The participants are 5 postpartum mothers. The instrument used to assess wound healing is the Reeda scale. Data were obtained through interview, observation, documentation, and literary study. Result: After having the application of binahong leaf boiled-water, the score of wound healing of all participants was 0 – the first participant on day 7, the second participant on day 6, the third participant on day 7, the fourth participant on day 6, and the fifth participant on day 8.
