Abstract

Background: The long labor is one of the causes of maternal mortality. In Kebumen there were 206 (8%) long partus cases of 5.165 labor processes in 2015. It can be treated by self-medication or non-pharmacology. Consuming extract of kurma (date-palm) at the end of pregnancy can help to accelerate labor progress on stage I. Therefore, the writer is interested in giving extract of kurma (datepalm) at the end of pregnancy to accelerate the labor progress on stage 1. Objective: This study aims at knowing the consumption of date-palm extract at the end of pregnancy to accelerate the labor progress on stage I of primiparaous pregnant mothers in Independent Midwifery Clinic of Midwife Heni Winarti, Amd.Keb at Jatijajar. Method: This scientific paper is an analytical descriptive with a case study approach. The participants were 5 primipharaous pregnant mothers. Data were obtained through interview, observation, and documentation. The instruments were observation sheets, set of delivery tools and camera. Result: After consuming extract of kurma (date-palm) at the end of pregnancy, the labor progress on stage I of primipharaous pregnant mothers became faster.
