Abstract
Background, the background of this study is plebitis is a nosocomial infection that ranks first compared to other infections. Plebitis is an inflammation of the veins caused by chemical and mechanical irritants. To minimize the incidence of plebitis, the nurse needs to know about the factors that affect the occurrence of plebitis. Purpose, purpose of this research is to know the factors related to plebitis incidence in patients who are infused in Hospitalization Unit of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital SruwengKebumen. Methods, methods of this study using an analytical survey using a cohort approach. A sample of 73 patients was taken incidental sampling. The statistical test used is Chi Square. Result, the results of this study obtained data from 73 respondents who experienced plebitis ≤3 days as many as 59 respondents and> 3 days 14 respondents. Chi Square results obtained influential variable is the compliance of nurses to SPO infusion, comorbidities, types of intravenous fluids, and size IV catheters. Conclusion, the conclusion of this research is the relationship between plebitis incidence with nurse compliance to SPO infusion, comorbidities, infusion fluid type, and catheter size IV. The most dominant factor is the type of intravenous fluids. Recommendation, Based on the results of the research, it is necessary to conduct in-house training of nurses in intravenous therapy.
