Abstract
Background: An estimated 64 million people suffer from moderate to severe COPD and more than 3 million (5%) of deaths worldwide by 2015 are caused by COPD. The problem with COPD patients is the ineffectiveness of airway clearance associated with secretive buildup. Purpose Explaining nursing care in COPD patients with active cycle of breathing technique (ACBT) therapy in patients with respiratory clearance nursing problems. Result Nursing problems that arise are ineffective clearance of airway. Nursing actions undertaken by positioning a semifowler and teaching ACBT techniques to overcome airway clearance, patient evaluation results are able to do so and are able to excrete phlegm. Recommendation Nurses should be able to apply the ACBT technique to the ineffective handling of airway clearance, because the results of the ACBT management obtained information from the patient that in addition to more easily remove sputum.
