Abstract
Background: Pleural effusion can occur as a complication of various diseases. Effusion shows signs and symptoms of shortness of breath, attempts to correct the problem, one of them is with therapy or semi-fowler position action, that is, the patient is positioned halfsitting (30-450 ) Objective: To analyze semi-fowler action with nursing problems ineffectiveness of breathing patterns in patients with pleural effusion in the ED Room Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto Method: This scientific tuis work uses a descriptive case study design. Respondents in this nursing care were 3 patients. Result: the main nursing problem that occurs is the ineffectiveness of the breathing pattern. The action taken is the provision of semi-fowler therapy. After the therapy is done there is a change in RR calculation value close to normal. Conclusion: on the effect of changes in respiration or respiratory pattern in patients with pleural effusion after semi-fowler action
