Abstract
Background: Health Ministry of Indonesia Republic in 2016 reported that 503.735 infants in Indonesia suffered from pneumonia, i.e. severe pneumonia, pneumonia, and cough instead of pneumonia. The most case is severe pneumonia with incidence rate of 334,555 case. The high rate of pneumonia incidence may be caused by the lack of knowledge of parents, especially mothers about early detection on pneumonia of infants. Therefore, the writer is interested in applying innovative care by using booklet media for health education on pneumonia early detection. Objective: To know the use of booklet media in health education on pneumonia early detection towards infants. To know the knowledge level of mothers about pneumonia early detection. To know the effectiveness of health education by using booklet media for pneumonia early detection. Method: This scientific paper is an analytical descriptive with a case study approach. The technique used in determining the participant is purposive sampling technique. There are 6 participants who are interested accordance with the inclusion criteria. Result: After applying the use of booklet media in health education on pneumonia early detection of infants, there was an increase in knowledge level of all participants about pneumonia early detection on infants-from 83.3% (enough knowledge) increase to be 100% (good knowledge). Conclusion: The use of booklet media ia effective for improving the knowledge level of participants about pneumonia early detection.
