Abstract
Background: According to World Health Organization (WHO), in 2014 there were 178 million children under five suffering from stunting (developmental disorders due to malnutrition). The national prevalence of stunting children under five in 2013 was 37.2%, consisting of very short children (18.0%) and short children (19.2%). It means there was an increase compared with the prevalence in 2010 (35.6%) and in 2007 (36.8%). The nutrition of children under five in Indonesia can not be separated from the problem of growth disorder (stunting). Therefore, the writer is interested in implementation and innovative education by using booklet media to improve knowledge of mothers about giving breast-milk and additional food their infants aged 6-24 months. Objective: To know the implementation of education using booklet media to improve knowledge of mothers about giving their infants aged 6-24 months breast-milk and additional food industry Independent Midwifery Clinic of Midwife Sugiyati. Method: This study was conducted by using and analytical descriptive method with a case study approach. The participants were 5 mothers having infants aged 6-24 months with malnutrition and ni weight-gain for consecutive 2 months. Data were obtained through interview and observation. Result: After baing given education, there was improvement of the knowledge of all participants, i.e. from point 80 to be 100 ( participant 1), from point 85 to be 95 (participant 2), from point 75 to be 95 (participant 3), from point 64 to be 95 (participant 4), and from point 80 to be 100 (participant 5). There were 2 participants (participant 3 and 4) with category of enough became good category, 3 participants (participant 1, 2, and 5) with good category.
