Abstract
Background: Studies show that cervical cancer is the highest case of nearly 70% found in advanced stage conditions. This is because of low screening, less than 5% due to the lack of knowledge about the dangers of cervical cancer. Therefore, the writer is interested in applying innovative audiovisual media in cervical cancer counceling to increase the awareness of fertile-aged women in visual inspection examination with acetic acid (IVA). Objective: To find out the application of audiovisual media in cervical cancer counceling to increase awareness of fertile-aged women in IVA examination. Method: This scientific study is an analytical descriptive with a case study approach. Data were obtained through questionnaires, interviews and observations. The study conducted from 20 up to 26 April 2018. Result: After the counseling, there was an increase in knowledge level that participants have good knowledge. They have never done IVA examination before and after the counseling all participants do IVA examination. Conclusion: Audio-visual media is more interesting in the counseling to increase the knowledge of participants about cervical cancer and their participation in IVA examination.
