Abstract
Background: Delivery process (labor) of stage I starts from the onset of uterine contractions and the opening of the cervix until it reaches the complete opening. The duration of primigravida stage I is 12 hours, while of multi-gravida stage I is 8 hours. An effort to accelerate the duration of stage I labor is by applying endorphin massage and warm compress. It can accelerate the duration of stage I labor because it can increase comfort, reduce stress and pain. Therefore, the writer is interested in performing a midwifery care on applying endorphin massage and warm compress to accelerate the duration of stage I labor. Objective: To know the application of endorphin massage and warm compress to accelerate the duration of stage I labor in Independent Midwifery Clonic of Midwife Sri Astuti at Bulurejo, Jatijajar, Kebumen. Method: Thsi study is an analytical descriptive with a case study approach. Data was obtained by conducting observations. The participants were 5 maternal mothers. Result: Normally the duration of stage I labor is 8 hours. However, after the application of endorphin massage and warm compresses on the five participants, there was a decrease in the duration of stage I labor, i.e. 45 hours (2 participants), 5 hours 30 minutes (1 participant), 6 hours 20 minutes (1 participant), 7 hours 50 minutes (1 participant). Conclusion: The application of endorphin massage and warm compress can accelerate the duration of stage I labor.
