Abstract
Background: Nurses as the spearhead of health care providers are required to work excellently and professionally under the many tasks and responsibilities that must be resolved, tasks and responsibilities trigger stress in work so that nurses need a method to adapt or manage stress so that it does not have an impact on decreasing the quality of services provided by nurses. Objective: To find out the relationship between work responsibility and stress management of nurses in class III room of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Method: This study used quantitative research methods with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used was a total sampling of 29 nurses in the class III room of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital . Research Results: The results showed that the work responsibility of nurses in the heavy category was 27 nurses (93.1%) and the rest had moderate workresponsibilityof 2 nurses (6.9%), while nurses' stress management was in a good category as many as 21 nurses (72.4%) and some had enough stress management, namely 8 nurses (27.6%). While the significance value (p) = 0.038 compared to α = 0.05 so that there is a relationship between work responsibility and stress management nurses. Conclusion: The results of the study found a relationship between work responsibility and stress management nurses in class III room PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Recommendations: The suggestions to the next researchers can further examine nurse stress management using qualitative methods so that discussion of stress management used by nurses can be more in-depth.
