Abstract
Background : of the problem of scientific writing is based on data obtained from various literature sources which states Appendicitis is appendicitis piriformis. if it is not be treated it will be fatal, one of treatments is surgery, a complaint that is often experienced after surgery is pain, if not be treated, this will cause an increase in blood pressure, pulse and muscle tension. one of the pain treatments is the effleurage technique, the effleurage technique is a massage technique that is done to help speed up the process of starting the pain by gently touching the back with the patient's hand to create a relaxing effect. The purpose : of scientific writing is to provide an overview of nursing care about the application of the effleurage technique using olive oil to reduce pain intensity in postoperative appendectomy patients. The method : used is descriptive by conducting interviews to assess patients so that a priority diagnosis could appear in two patients with treatment for three days. The results : of the intervention and implementation that need to be done are ice therapy, guided imagination, relaxation disorders, one of which is the effleurage technique using olive oil. Evaluation : of the effleurage technique using olive oil in a postoperative appendectomy patients which was carried out for three days reduced the intensity of the pain with a number of two scores, reducing pain due to the healing rate of diseased tissue. Recommendations : for reducing pain in post appendectomy patients in the future can use herbal medicines.
