Abstract
Background: Increasing adolescent knowledge about HIV/AIDS effectively and comprehensively required a strategic approach, addressing structural factors involving the active role of all sectors, including educational institutions. One of the actions taken by health services to increase knowledge about HIV/AIDS among adolescents was health promotion efforts. The discussion method could be used to convey information by providing more opportunities for students to gather opinions, make conclusions, or compile various alternative problem-solving. Purposive : To determine the Effectiveness of the Case Discussion Method in Increasing Adolescent Knowledge about HIV/AIDS in SMA N Rowokele. Method: This research was a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design. The population in this study comprised all grade XI students of SMA N Rowokele totaling 324 students. The sampling technique used purposive sampling and obtained 30 respondents who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. In analyzing bivariate data, a t-test was conducted with a significant level of 95%. Result:. The results of the statistical t-test obtained a p-value of 0.001 <0.05, indicating that the case discussion method was effective in increasing adolescent knowledge about HIV/AIDS. Conclusion: The case discussion method was effective in increasing adolescent knowledge about HIV/AIDS
