Abstract
Background: Health is influenced by various factors, while pain is managed with analgesics, classified into narcotic and non-narcotic types. Since analgesics carry potential risks of side effects, appropriate drug selection is crucial. This study aims to describe the prescribing patterns of analgesics based on physician prescriptions at Galenica Pharmacy. Objective: To identify the prescribing patterns of analgesic drugs at Galenica Pharmacy based on patients’ age, gender, and the class of analgesics prescribed. Method: This research employed a retrospective method by reviewing patient prescriptions containing analgesic therapy at Galenica Pharmacy during the period of October–November 2024. Results: The study revealed that most analgesic prescriptions were given to patients aged 26–40 years (50%), with male patients being the majority (60%). The most frequently prescribed drug was sodium diclofenac, with 21 prescriptions (42%). Conclusion: Health is influenced by multiple factors, while pain as a common complaint is treated with analgesics, both narcotic and non-narcotic. This study provides an overview of analgesic prescribing patterns based on physician prescriptions at Galenica Pharmacy.
