Abstract

Background: Changes in sexual function are a typical issue that frequently affects breast cancer patients; these changes are brought on by the cancer treatment's long-term negative effects. Domestic harmony in couples who are ready to have children is greatly influenced by sexual function. Objectives: Find out the description of sexual function in couples of childbearing ages who are undergoing therapy due to breast cancer at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Method: This research used quantitative-descriptive research. The used by questioner collection data, information and facts that occurred in the field during the research. Data analysis in this study used univariate analysis (descriptive analysis). Result: The sexual function of women with breast cancer-related therapy was mostly (51.6%) poor, while the husbands of breast cancer patients mostly (57.8%) had good sexual function. Conclusion: Most sexual functions were dysfunctional in couples of childbearing ages receiving treatment for breast cancer. Recommendation: It is hoped that the result of study can provide counseling and provide sufficient information so that couples of childbearing ages do not feel afraid and anxious if they want to have sexual intercourse with their partner.
