Abstract

Background:Fractures are a significant global health issue, causing over one million deaths annually. In Indonesia, fractures are the third leading cause of death, following coronary heart disease and tuberculosis. Aromatherapy is a therapeutic treatment that utilizes essential oils extracted from aromatic plants, flowers, or trees for healing purposes. It involves the use of natural extracts and chemical components found in essential oils to provide therapeutic benefits. Objective:This study aims to analyze nursing care for acute pain in post-ORIF (Open Reduction and Internal Fixation) femur fracture patients at RSU Siaga Medika Banyumas. Methods:This research adopts a case study design. The sample in this study consists of five patients. Results:An analysis of observations conducted before and after the administration of lavender aromatherapy over a period of three days, with each session lasting 15 minutes, shows a reduction in pain levels by 1–2 points on the pain scale in patients experiencing acute pain following femur fracture surgery. Recommendation:Lavender aromatherapy is effective in reducing post-operative pain in femur fracture patients, as evidenced by the decrease in pain scale.
