Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus(DM)isachronicmetabolicdisordercharacterizedby elevated bloodglucoselevelscausedbyanimbalancebetweeninsulinsupplyanddemand. Insulin isessentialforfacilitatingglucoseentryintocellsformetabolismandcellular growth. Objective: To determinetherelationshipbetweendietarycomplianceandbloodglucose levels indiabetesmellituspatientsatNgadirejoPublicHealthCenter.. Method: This studyemployedadescriptivecorrelationaldesignwithacross-sectional approach. Atotalof67DMpatientsparticipatedasrespondents.Dataanalysiswas performed usingtheSpearmanRhoparametrictest.. Results: The studyfoundthatmostrespondentswereadolecene(45-55years,40.6%), female (53.2%),andhadahighschooleducation(29.8%).Approximately76.6%of respondents compliedwith7adiabetesdiet,while77.3%normalbloodglucoselevels(80- 139 mg/dL).Statisticalanalysisshowedasignificantandmoderatelystrongrelationship between dietarycomplianceandbloodglucoselevels,withapositivecorrelation supporting glucosecontrolthroughdietaryadherence. Conclusion: There isasignificantrelationshipbetweendietarycomplianceandblood glucose levelsindiabetesmellituspatients,withamoderatelystrongcorrelation(ρ=0.714, p-value <0.001). Recommendation: Future researchisrecommendedtoenhanceknowledgeandcompetence in managingdietarycompliancefordiabetesmellituspatientsandtoexplorethefactors influencing bloodglucoselevels,withtheaimofapplyingthefindingstothecommunity.
