Abstract

Background: Preschoolers have a lot of physical and mental development. What if this development does not pass well with this will affect the growth of children's intelligence, there for parents need to pay attention to the child's development. Emotional intelligence is very important for one's life. Without emotional intelligence, the ability to understand and manage the feelings of oneself and others, face all kinds of challenges including the challenge to succeed academically, and the opportunity to live happily and successfully becomes very slim. Research Objectives: To determine the relationship of parenting parents with emotional intelligence of pre-school children. Research Methods: This study uses a descriptive study of the sample correlation taken as many as 70 respondents how to take using total sampling, the statistical test used is the chi square correlation. The research design used was cross sectional. Research Results: Based on the results of the study most respondents had democratic parenting as many as 52 respondents (74.3%) who had good emotional intelligence as many as 74.3 respondents (95.7%). The results of this study indicate the magnitude of the p-value of 0.001 is smaller than 0.05 so there is a relationship between parenting parents and emotional intelligence of preschoolers in PAUD Subdistrict Adimulyo. In conclusion: The results of this study are that there is a relationship between parenting style and emotional intelligence of preschoolers at PAUD Subdistrict Adimulyo. Recommendations: To the next researcher, the researcher suggests that the researchers follow up on other factors that can influence the development of children's emotional intelligence, learning motivation, peer groups, stress, school.
