Abstract

Background, Cervical cancer is still a high cause of mortality in women. The low knowledge of young women shows the need for health education with the Jigsaw method. This method actively involves students in the learning process, so it is expected to improve their understanding of the material being taught. which can improve students' understanding. Purpose of the Research, the purpose of this study is to measure how effective health education is by using the jigsaw method in increasing knowledge about cervical cancer prevention at Senior High School N 1 of Kaliwiro. Research Method, this research method used a one group of Pre-test and Post-test, the total sampling were 40 respondents with pre experimental disign. This stud was a questioner of cervical cancer prevention knowledge. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test because the data is not normally distributed. The results, this study showed a p-value = 0.001 (< 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the score before and after the intervention. The average knowledge score increased from 12.55 to 16.02, so that the jigsaw method was declared effective in increasing students' knowledge about cervical cancer prevention. In conclusion, health education with the jigsaw method has proven to be effective and can be used as an alternative learning strategy for teachers and health workers. Recommendations, suggested to involve control groups as well as add attitude and action variables to see changes in behavior after increased knowledge.
